MacConkey Agar is a dehydrated selective and differential agar for Gram-negative enteric bacteria.
It supports isolation and differentiation of Enterobacteriaceae, including coliforms, based on lactose fermentation, and can support recovery of organisms such as Salmonella and Shigella.
